Luath Luath Luath

Luath at Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary

A Male Black Lurcher who is age 3 years

Pet Location: In foster

This gorgeous boy is Luath - pronounced Loo-ah, Gaelic for swift! He's a sensitive boy, and is going to need someone who is home most of the time in the beginning to help him get settled in his new home. He could potentially live with another dog, with an owner who has experience of, and is able to manage his issue of resource guarding. In the house he is a big sleepy, cuddly lump and is pretty chilled out when he has company. He's very clever, and will sit, paw, lie down for treats! He walks well outside, and is good with most of dogs he meets although he has reacted on occasion to some dogs.

He loves to play with toys in the house, race around the garden and fetch a ball. He gets on well with his foster brother Robbie and has made friends in the park. His recall is getting a little bit better but he's still easily distracted. He's been introduced to canicross recently and really loves to run in harness. He has some separation anxiety however, the time he can be left on his own is gradually increasing.

If you think you can help Luath please contact us - info@scottishgreyhoundsanctuary.com - or fill out an application form at www.scottishgreyhoundsanctuary.org/application-form

Pique (Pete)

Pique (Pete) at Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary

A Male Brindle Greyhound who is age 4

Contact Shelter Adoption Form

Shelter Location: Cover all of Scotland and further afield if necessary

Pique has finished his coursing days, and will now focus on finding a suitable sofa to lounge on. Pique was born 2015 and he is an energetic, friendly boy, who loves human attention and tearing it up in the garden. He can be a little jumpy when he gets excited. He is good in the car and on lead. Pique gets very excited around smaller dogs to live with them. He is not cat friendly. A lovely, handsome and elegant boy who would love an active home with plenty of time for cuddles on the sofa

Mac

Mac at Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary

A Male Brindle Greyhound who is age 4 years

Good With Children Not Good With Other Pets

Pet Location: Foster Home

Mac is a beautiful dark bridle boy who's coat shines like marmalade in the sun. A glossy boy with white markings underneath his paws and a big white stripe from underneath his chin to his tummy.
He's a tall boy with lots of bounce and affection, loves to play games and will chase a ball and invite you to play with it.
He's clever, funny and eager to please.
He loves people and can't understand why everyone does not want to speak to him.
He's great with children , even small loud ones. Best to give him an introduction first though , as with most dogs he can be startled if unexpectedly poked in the eye!
He walks perfectly on his lead, enjoys car travel and is super clean in the house.
He would be best as an only dog or with a confident, assured dog friend.
Mac has been a champion racer and socialisation has probably been non existent before rescue. He is, therefore, reactive to dogs on and ,particularly , off lead.
Tends to be good with dogs that are smaller than a spaniel.
A very happy dog in his home and can be left for a few hours peacefully sleeping on his sofa.

Shelter Location: Cover all of Scotland and further afield if necessary

Myles is lovely friendly boy who is slightly shy. He would benefit from a home where these are no young children. He could live with other dogs and cats but he would need someone around most of the time because he does suffer from separation anxiety.
