Chaps

Chaps at Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary

A Male White and black Lurcher who is age 1

Contact Shelter Adoption Form

Shelter Location: Cover all of Scotland and further afield if necessary

Chaps is a beautiful Lurcher, who has not long turned 1. He's super cuddly, loving , loyal and so full of fun.

This young man has been with SGS for a good few months now, he's had a few hurdles with his health to over come and a lot of work has gone into his training.

He currently lives with 2 female greys but has been very well behaved with several other doggy visitors over the past while. He is coming along really well and can be off lead and play with other dogs in the park as long as he is muzzled, as he can get a little too enthusiastic with his playing! He can get over excited so needs to be calmed before he gets over the top as this can become very rough play, but calms easily now and quickly.

He is good out walking on lead most of the time and enjoys going to visit his human and doggie friends in their home, and them visiting him. A few months back, Chaps was very difficult to walk on lead, and was quite afraid to approach other humans. His foster mum has put so much work into this wee lad to help him overcome his fears.

He is still a work in progress, as Chaps can be over stimulated by other dogs running off lead when he is on lead, and becomes frustrated, but he is getting much better with training. He can be reactive on the odd occasion to some dogs but there is no particular "type", but again his foster mum has put so much work into his training and he is improving all the time .

He goes on group walks regularly and really loves this, he also loves to play with his human friends at tug, throw, fetch, sit, lie , paw, and scenting out food .

This wee boy is going to be an awesome friend to the right person. He is probably looking for a fairly active home, with someone who has the experience and time to continue with his training. Anyone who is interested in adopting Chaps will need to be available for a few meet ups prior to adoption to ensure a smooth transition from foster home to forever home, and be willing to work with his foster mum and his trainer to help him along the way.

If you have room in your home and your hearts for Chaps please visit our website where you can complete an online application form or you can email us at info@scottishgreyhoundsanctuary.com or phone us on 08456439335.
