Simba Simba Simba

Simba at Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary

A Male Fawn Lurcher who is age 6 years

Good With Children Not Good With Other Pets Good With Dogs

Contact Shelter Adoption Form

Pet Location: In kennels

We are seeking a foster home for the lovely Simba, who is having to come back into our care. Simba is a six and a half year old bull lurcher. Simba is a very loving and affectionate boy. He's not good with small furries though and he's a jumper, so care needs to be taken even in secure gardens!

Simba had to come back into SGS due to the development of some behavioural issues. Having worked with our professional team behaviourist and a very good vet he has been diagnosed with severe back pain. The exact cause is unknown at this time. but tests are ongoing. Now that he is on the right pain medication Simba's behaviour has done a complete 180 and he is like a different dog, no longer reactive towards others dogs and much more chilled in general.

If you think you can help Simba please contact us - info@scottishgreyhoundsanctuary.com - or fill out an application form at www.scottishgreyhoundsanctuary.org/application-form

Rocky Rocky Rocky

Rocky at Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary

A Male Black Greyhound who is age 2.5 years

Contact Shelter Adoption Form

Pet Location: In foster

Young Rocky is proving to be quite character in his foster home, he is fully crate trained and currently lives in a flat in the city centre and is proving to be good at adapting to new situations. Rocky would be able to live as an only dog as even though he is being fostered with one other hound he isn't too fussed about her. He does have quite a high prey drive and needs more positive exposure to smaller dogs to help his reactions toward them which is a total achievable goal.

If you have room in your home and your hearts for Rocky please visit our website https://www.scottishgreyhoundsanctuary.org where you can complete an online application form or you can email us at info@scottishgreyhoundsanctuary.com or phone us on 08456439335.

Flo Flo Flo

Flo at Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary

A Female Black Lurcher who is age 2.5 years

Good With Children Good With Dogs

Contact Shelter Adoption Form

Pet Location: In foster

Flo can be quite insecure, so she needs an experienced owner who can help improve her resource guarding. She struggles to cope with being left alone, so she needs lots of company either at home or at doggy daycare. Although Flo loves playing with all types of dogs, we think she would be happiest as the only dog in the house or possibly with a calm laid back hound. Flo enjoys playing with toys and rushing round the garden. She has lots of energy and needs plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, but she also enjoys a snooze and a cuddle on the couch. She would be very happy living with older kids who wouldn't mind her bounces.

Flo needs someone who is committed to continuing her training and helping her to find her full potential. She is a lovely, friendly and beautiful girl who will reward your efforts by making you a loving companion.

If you have room in your home and your hearts for Flo please click on the adoption form link below. Or for more information, visit our website https://www.scottishgreyhoundsanctuary.org or you can email us at info@scottishgreyhoundsanctuary.com or phone us on 08456439335.

Good With Children Good With Other Pets Good With Dogs

Shelter Location: Cover all of Scotland and further afield if necessary

Chapeau or Chaps more often, beautiful personality but a bit of a rascal. Chaps is great with young children and fine with traffic (very busy bit for traffic and other dogs etc) , great with other dogs. He has also lived with cats in his previous home. He is having a bit of trouble getting to grips with toilet training. Please note that we will be evaluating any adoption applications very seriously to make sure any home is able to handle a young, bouncy lurcher.

Dusty Dusty Dusty

A Male black Lurcher who is age 6 months

Good With Children Good With Other Pets Good With Dogs

Contact Shelter Adoption Form

Shelter Location: Cover all of Scotland and further afield if necessary

Gorgeous Dusty has recently gone into foster care with SGS. So far she is turning out to be a very clever and affectionate pup. She can live with other dogs, is quick to learn the rules and just loves snuggling up on the sofa as close as she can possibly get. She has been let off lead in enclosed spaces and is learning to recall. She's a very playful girl and would benefit from a home where someone will be around a lot of the time in the beginning to help her settle in to the family/ We will update more as we get to know her!
