Home Requirements
An experienced owner
An active owner
A quiet home
A home with garden

Hamish is looking for an experienced & active owner who have dealt with nervous dogs before. He needs a quiet home with access to his own private garden so he can still enjoy the outdoors safely. Hamish needs to be the only pet in an adult only home and would like to be kept company all day.
Hamish is a nervous boy who is unsure of new people, particularly men, and takes time to make new friends. His new owners will need to be prepared to visit him several times to build a bond with him. He can be worried in busy environments, so he needs understanding owners who will build his confidence in quieter areas first. He needs an experienced and extremely committed owner who have the time to slowly build his confidence and understand that it will take time for him to feel safe and comfortable in his new home.
With those he knows, Hamish is very affectionate, loves a cuddle and thinks he is a lap dog at times! Being a collie he will need a lot of mental and physical stimulation to keep him happy and he may enjoy going hill walking or running once settled in. Hamish loves running along the beach and getting the sand in between his toes or running around the paddock chasing a tennis ball. He can make doggy friends if introduced properly but he isn’t keen on dogs coming into his space, so any friends he does make will need to respect his boundaries.
Hamish is a truly wonderful boy with bags of potential, he is eager to please and will be a very rewarding pet for the right owner.
Hamish has received treatment for his skin whilst in our care. More details will be discussed with successful applicants.
