Skye is inquisitive, playful and an explorer. She loves to sit up high in her run and is the first to sit up on her back legs to see what treats you're bringing to her. She lives outdoors with her daughter Isla and loves being out in her run. She's comfortable with dogs being in the garden while she's in the run too. Skye loves her food and will take veggies from your hand. Her favourites are broccoli, kale and loves a treat of a banana or slice of apple. She's clean and tidy in her hutch and snuggles into the straw at a night time. Skye is easy to handle although she is prone to a foot stamp, especially when she's getting put in her hutch for the night and playtime is over.

Maple has the softest ginger coat and is a really sweet bunny. She lives with her husbun Chestnut and loves to snuggle up to him, groom him and play together. Maple is inquisitive and is quick to pop her head out to find out what's going on. She loves her veggies, especially cucumbers and eats all her nuggets up! She's easy to handle and is clean and tidy in her hutch. Maple lives outdoors and loves to have space to explore but is pretty chilled out in general. She loves to have toys to play with and will throw these around the hutch and run. Maple has a great personality and push her nose in front of chestnut to see what's going on! Maple doesn't blink when dogs are running about the garden and barking and has regularly seen passing cats without distress.

Chestnut is a handsome boy and he knows it! He's the first to push his head out the hutch to see who's approaching and will eagerly push his head against you. He loves when you sit in the run with him and he'll climb up your leg and round about you. He's a great husbun to Maple and they can frequently be seen grooming each other and snuggling. He has previously had his two front teeth removed but this doesn't stop him from having a great time out on the grass, however you need to remember and give him a nice big pile of hay too as he can't chew the grass. He loves a tomato and pieces of cucumber and is the first to dive into his nuggets. He's a playful bunny and will throw his toys around the run. Chestnut is a great character!

Duncan is a really lovely boy, who unfortunately has a condition contagious to other rabbits, so needs to get a home on his own. It doesn't cause him any concern though, and he thoroughly enjoys life. Duncan can be quite timid at first but soon shows you that he is just a big fluffy cuddle-monkey and has the fluffiest feet I have ever seen. Duncan loves to chew, especially toys and cardboard boxes. He had a lovely cat igloo but decided it would be more fun to dig and chew a hole in the back and either push or dig the cushion from the igloo through the hole. He gets very cross with me when I put the cushion back in the igloo and has to immediately push or pull the cushion out again. Duncan loves getting kisses and cuddles, and enjoys being groomed, which is good as his coat is very long and fluffy, so gets knotty quite easily. A good brush everyday, generally while he's eating breakfast or dinner, to distract him, should be enough to keep on top of it. Duncan is very nosey about what you are doing and usually rushes to greet people when they come to visit him - if he could smile, he would be giving a big smile. It could be because he loves his food, so he's hoping you've got something nice for him. Duncan is a great boy, who is really fun to spend time with, once you get to know him, still looking for his forever home.

Janet is a gorgeous black Lionhead Lop with white paws and a little white patch on her nose.
She is bonded with Tony who is also a black Lionhead Lop but this time with black paws.
They have been nicknamed The Paws by their Foster Carer because they look so similar apart from their paws! Janet is always excited to see you and comes running up to inspect hands for treats, often mistaking fingers for treats in the excitement! She loves to run around free and investigate her surroundings but loves nothing more than snuggling up with Tony in their hay bed. She is a bit more reserved than Tony but once she is out running around there is no stopping her. As Janet is a Lionhead, she needs to be groomed regularly but as she loves to be petted, this is not a problem.

Isla lives with her Mum, Skye. They love to groom each other and snuggle up for naps. Isla is quite a reserved bunny around people and tends to stay in the background while Isla explores what's going on. Isla's a gentle bunny and easy to handle. She's clean and tidy in her hutch but loves to spend the days outside with lots of space to run around. She has a slight head tilt and is blind in one eye due to having EC on entering the rescue. However, this doesn't hold her back and she's quite happy to play in and out of the tunnels and tuck into a nice fresh pile of hay. She's grown in confidence and will coming running out to explore at the sounds of her nuggets being shaken in the tub.

OWNER FINANCIAL: CHANGE IN PERSONAL FINANCES

Charlotte has been bonded with Sarge since January 2016, and recently re-entered the rescue following a change in their owner's circumstances. She is not a fussy eater and loves dried mango and parsley as her favourite. Also eats a range of other herbs, veg and fruit quite comfortably and tends to eat just what she needs rather than scoffing everything in sight. She will try to steal treats from Sarge's mouth though if he manages to get to the treats first! She loves to run and binky and is very excitable when she hears the treat bag and will often run about fast then come charging up for a treat. She usually sleeps all day and then becomes a bit more active around evening time. She enjoys a petting on her terms; e.g. if she is on the ground and she is positioned against the wall she will let you pet her for ages and also kisses constantly whilst doing this! Not happy on being picked up though. Once she has been picked up she is easily handled but will have a little 'huff'. She does like the occasional grump just to say 'go away' as she is very timid and will hide at the slightest noise. Charlotte will bang her feet and run very fast in circles, hiding anywhere she can when she knows you are trying to picker her, and she loves to hide in tunnels. She doesn't like hard floor surfaces or laminate floor, and has been known to chew and eat wallpaper. She is extremely protective over Sarge and they absolutely love each other. They are always together. She tends to follow him, however she is the dominant one of the pair.

OWNER CIRCUMSTANCES: UNABLE TO MEET RABBIT CARE REQUIREMENTS

Sarge was adopted from FBRC in January 2016 when he was bonded with Charlotte. He recently returned to the rescue following his owner's change in circumstances. He loves his food and he is first to jump into his area when it has been cleaned out to start eating his pellets. He likes to eat his parsley before it is even on the plate! Sarge could do with losing a little weight but it is so difficult as he just loves his food so much. He's not overweight, just a little podgy. He is very laid back and nosey, and has no fear. He gets excitable over food and will jump on your lap if you have a treat and not giving him it fast enough. He likes to go into cupboards and places he probably shouldn't! He likes to dig and eat the carpet though, and will chew wallpaper too! Sarge likes to jump on things and loves jumping up on the couch. He is always up to mischief! If he is in an enclosure he will try and pull at it to get back out again, so free-ranging would suit him best. A few times he has escaped from his puppy pen now ;-) He doesn't like being picked up and doesn't like being petted either. He is very easy to catch though but won't sit easily for his regular health checks. He does moult quite a lot and it can be difficult trying to comb him. Sarge loves Charlotte and tends to be the first to explore/take the lead with Charlotte following.

Entry Reason: RABBIT BEHAVIOURS: AGGRESSION

My name is Savannah, named after the city in the US state of Georgia, and I am around 18 months old. I entered the rescue here at FBRC in January this year.
I am a Continental Giant Rabbit, which means I am one of the largest breeds of rabbit you’ll meet. Even David, the giant enthusiast at Fairly Beloved, was surprised by my size, but I stand by Mika as a proud example that this Big Girl truly is beautiful.
In my previous home I wasn’t as happy as I might have been. I had a good amount of space to call my own, but that was part of the problem: I was on my own. My owners wanted to love me, they really did, but they were scared by my size and I was scared by the things they wanted to do with me. I’m not a cuddly bunny you see, and in a home with young children I was just really uncomfortable. I was always on edge, not quite sure why they would approach me so fast, and they always wanted to handle me and stroke me. They started to back off a little, and to this day I don’t know whether that was better for me or not. I’ve never really had a chance to gain confidence around you humans you see. The volunteers here seem nice though, and they are trying.
I’ve grown a little jumpy, and protective of my space. But slowly I am starting to realise that not everyone is out to get me. In recent weeks, I’ve even started letting the volunteers stroke my nose and back, and will take food from them comfortably. If we’re in a neutral space, I respond better to human interaction, but my space is my space!
It would be nice to have some company though. A bunny friend. Obviously, all on my terms, I ain’t going to let no-bun tell me how to do things. And when it comes to bonding, I don’t plan to make it easy on my new companion. But I do get lonely. And I do yearn for company. And who knows, once I settle down with the right bunny, maybe that wild youthful side of me will take a break. One of the volunteers here mentioned some sort of “arranged bonding” thing they do where they help make sure bunny’s bond safely, so I may give that a go.
I am a real foody. I will eat just about anything to be honest, so do not spare anytime getting that food to me. And I am just so desperate to get the food in my mouth, I may accidentally nibble a little finger in the process! I don’t mean to, but seriously why does it take you so long to give me that treat?
The most important thing I am looking for in a new home is LOADS of space! I am a big girl, and energetic and I need space to spread my long body in. So don’t be showing me no hutches or cupboards. I want a shed or summer house or garage I can call my own. I might consider somewhere indoors, but I do love my fresh air and think somewhere outdoors may suit me best.
And I want to own a human that understands where I am coming from. If you have never had a rabbit before, or are used to cuddly little mini-lops then I am probably not your girl. But if you want to roar with laughter at my antics and shenanigans, and are willing to put up with a bit of sass, then get that adoption form in prompto! I am ready to show you how a real rabbit struts around her pad.
